Ok....it's been a long time. I think I may try and start this again and keep everyone posted. Give me a few days to think of what I need to write.

Never too late

Well, I know this is so late in posting but James turned 1 on November 16. I am so proud of him with all that he has accomplished. He's completely enjoying Montessori and making new friends there. He is also walking now!!!

We had his first birthday and here are a few pics to enjoy.

Congrats!!

Just a few things that have happened in the last little while:

Congratulations to Dana and Paul for having their newest little girl added to their family. Speedy recovery and good luck to Dana for the future. We are thinking of you all of the time.

Also, Jason and Beth are getting married today. I was really touched that we were invited to the wedding. It means alot to me to be regarded that way. Thanks Jason. We miss you at Dere's. We really do.

I am leaving for Mexico in a week for Judith and Jeff's wedding. Also looking forward to this. This is my first bridesmaid wedding in about 20 years. I was 16 at my last wedding as a bridesmaid. I guess my friends are doing things differently these days.

James is turning 10 months tomorrow and I have a party to plan soon!! I haven't stopped thinking about all kinds of crazy ideas to have at this party. Sooooooo looking forward to it.

I also have some news to share with all of you as soon as I am able to. (no, I am not pregnant).

Hope everyone is well!

Weird reunions

Yesterday we took James for his 9 month photo shoot at Zehr's. That was a joy! Again he wouldn't smile at all.

Well anyway, I was unloading James back into the car and a lady asked me for my cart. I looked at her and I recognized her. She was a girl that I knew and was friends with back in Grade 8. I haven't seen her in exactly 21 years. She looked the same!! It's weird how we are all reuniting with old friends on Facebook and then I run into someone out of no where in a parking lot. I thought the timing of it couldn't have been better.

Can you believe he is 9 months old???? Where did time fly to? It really does go by fast. We have started him on yogurt and he seems to really like it. He hasn't yet refused anything except for my dad's tomato macaroni soup. Which no one refuses but sure enough he has. He is walking everywhere (holding on to tables), crawling absolutely everywhere he can get to, chasing the cat, saying "mama", laughing at me when I read him stories, waving bye bye, starting to blow kisses, hugs and kisses when asked and being as sweet as possible to everyone he meets.

The update....

James is crawling for about a week or so now....Wow!! It's hard to believe that this is happening but it is so cute that he is now coming to me and me not going to him as often. He's eating VERY well and I can't wait to find out what he weighs next month. He's starting to say one word "yayayayaya." Again, it is so adorable. He's learning to kiss right now. He is very much in love with his fishie at bath time and our cat here at home. He smiles quite big at these 2 things. Daddy is having a blast with James as he tries to spend as much time as we can.

The big news is that we got James into Montessori for the Fall. We are so excited but I will miss him at the same time. And yes, I have slowly started to go back to work and eventually after Sept. I will go full time again.

James has a total of 7 teeth altogether now and they have driven him nuts coming out. But it's so cute!!

Lots of stuff!

It's been crazy around here lately. So much going on. First I want to congratulate my friends Mary and Ryan for having a beautiful baby girl. She is quite a little doll and everyone seems happy and healthy. Congrats!!!!

We had James' baptism over the weekend and boy was he quite the star of the show. There were 5 baptisms at the Church and he was the only one that didn't cry when he was being baptized. I think he thought he was getting his bath as he just let the minister do what he needed to do. Afterwards at brunch, he made everyone laugh including himself. I want to thank James' Godparents, Fannie and Judith for making it a wonderful day. Also, thank you to everyone else who came to attend his big day. We appreciate it.

James has also reached his 6 months. He is so involved in everything now. He eats EVERYTHING!!! And, now he is starting to eat fruits in chunks as he is learning to chew. He is sleeping through the night now without a feed of about 10 hours. It's making things easier for us. He loves his exersaucer and Mommy playing with him, as well as others. He is such a good baby and we love him dearly.

It's so cute when we put a pickle in his mouth. The look on his face is pricesless. Rob managed to get this pic the other day. We couldn't stop laughing. Hope everyone is doing well!!

Can you believe this??

I heard today on the news that we are using 17 million plastic bags a day. That's 80 bags per second. Wow!! I was completely astonished. The reporter had also stated that it takes 1000 years to decompose completely. These are truly amazing facts.

The timing couldn't have been more perfect when I heard this on the radio and I was on my way to the grocery store. Well as soon as I walked in I saw that they had their reusable bags 5 for $5. I bought 5 and said good-bye to grocery plastic bags. We have to think of the future of our children and grandchildren. And even though I may have just changed something by just a minuscule, I feel better about what I did today.

So do your part to save our environment!

Yes! He's 5 1/5 months old!!

Time sure does fly.....never thought we'd make it this far 5 months ago. But we are here and it's soooooooo much fun right now. Lastnight we had him laughing so hard it was hard to believe he was a baby. The other night he got a kick out of Voula dancing and flopping her hair around. He laughed really hard at that. He also laughed really hard when his Aunt, Fannie, made sounds like a monkey and was throwing her hair around too. It's all worth it to see him like that.

Dorothy and I were at CKU last weekend and had such a great time. I don't want to forget everything I learned. Everyone was so nice, especially the CKU staff and I did about 3 mini albums and one large album in 2 days!!! And not to mention all the free stuff we received. Must have been at least $400 in free goods. They put on the best show.

This weekend we plan on relaxing as the next few will be hectic again. I have decided to start working one day a week until October and then I will go back to it full time. They have cut our hours in the office and it's getting scary as they are automating so much of my job. I love my job and hope to never lose it.

I'll leave you with some pics:

The weekend

Sorry for not being better at posting. I am having a difficult time keeping up with life which has been great with James and the family. His 2 front teeth have made it through and are about a third of the way up. He looks so cute. We had Tara over this weekend and she had a great time. I will post a few pics.

I have alot going on the next couple of weeks and I will try and post as time goes on. Enjoy!

Rainforest James

We bought him a new toy today and does he love it!! He was smiling, but by the time we pulled out the camera, he started to get cranky. He's teething today and the smiles have disappeared.

Enjoy!

Rolling over

Well, James is fully rolling over on his own from his back to his tummy. He is very proud of himself and I enjoy watching him. His grandparents get a kick out of him too when he does this. His 2 bottom teeth are visible and we are just waiting for their arrival. So he wakes up crying at night now and then falls back asleep.

He is enjoying baby cereal, especially oatmeal and as well his first fruit, banana. He is smiling and laughing all the time with us as well as enjoying the NCAA games.

Enjoy the video.

James is teething.....

He was up a few times lastnight crying and I see 2 of them coming out at the bottom. I am not certain but I think that they have already cut the skin. We'll know more in the next few days. But I will DEFINTELY post a pic when he does have them....how could I not????

In the meantime we got him a bumbo and he doesn't seem to like it too much. I think it may be too tight for him. I hope this changes though.

Sicknesses....

Well....it's been almost 2 weeks and the sicknesses are here. I developed influenza (the flu) and I wasn't perscribed anything for it. Apparently you have to seek medical attention within 48 hours for them to give you something that will speed it up by a day or so. Well, I got better for a few days last week and then my mother caught it. She's been coughing and sneezing and trying to fight this. Well Sunday mine came back and knocked me out again. I went to the doctor yesterday and she took X-rays and bloodwork to help determine what exactly I have and then she can give me something for this.

My main concern is James. I want him to be healthy his first 6 months of life and then we can deal with sicknesses after that with him. So passing him around between us and my parents has been quite a challenge, trying to take him to the least sickest place.

So I await my results and hope to have everyone healthy once again and be up and enjoying some spring weather.

Sally and Konstantinos!

Congratulations!!

Sally and Konstantinos were married on Friday Feb. 23-07. Judge Nosenchuck was kind enough to marry the two so that paperwork could be sped up for Konstantinos to find work here in Canada. The Church ceremony will take place in July. I was a witness to the wedding and I believe the ceremony was shorter than my own wedding in Vegas.

All the best to both of you!

Update-3 months

Wow....it's been crazy. We've had computer issues, a growing baby, and all the other little things that we have to keep up with. Rob's been getting busy with work again. Which is a good sign for the economy here in Windsor. Lots of buying and selling going on.

As for our James, he's getting big!! He reached his 3 months on the 16th and he's so adorable right now. Smiling and playing and being miserable all at once!! It's fun though. I am enjoying hanging out with him everyday now. We laugh together and he's starting to beome interested in his toys. I tried taking a 3 month photo of him in an outfit given to us by our neighbours but he was extremely uncooperative.

Meghan and Judith came to visit us too a couple of weeks ago. We had so much fun. Meghan is 8 months old but looks like a 2 year old. She is a very good baby. This is a pic of her trying to kiss James.

One of my good friends is also getting married this summer to a Greek guy right straight from Greece. I wanted to blog about them and I will eventually but I wanted to congratulate the both of them on their engagement. Congratulations Konstantinos and Sally!!

That's it for now. I will try and be better at posting more.

Couple of newsmakers.....

Not sure if anyone really cares, but to me these seemed to be important.

My favorite author of all time passed away. Sidney Sheldon, 89, was my all time favorite author. His books were always a page turner. Always kept me going. I hate to read, but his books were so good that I could finish one very quickly. I will definitely miss him.

Nazanin was freed today!! Woohoo!! I am so happy for her and her family. She is the Iranian girl that was prisoned for an act of self-defense. They were able to raise the money they needed and got her out. I am sure that her family is thrilled.

Some of my favorite pics of James

Sometimes.....I just can't enough of him and I need to take more pics. On Sunday I sat him up and he stayed!! So I took as many as I could of him before he would start to fall over. He makes us laugh every morning. He is so adorable and I love him more every day.

The next two are ones when he is watching his DVDs that I play for him in the mornings....I love the look of concentration that he gets.

I am going to try and get a side profile of him as lastnight for the first time I see that he looks most like Rob. I'd like to do the comparison and show it off.

2 months

Well James is 2 months old now and he is busy with smiling and making sweet little noises to us. He recognizes me when we are with a bunch of people looking at him. His night feedings are going anywhere from 5-8 hour stretches. His 2 month weigh in was 13lbs 7oz measuring 24 1/4 inches long. We are so happy!!

Nazanin

I am not sure how I got to this site but I have been very interested in what has happened with her case. This is about an Iranian girl who has been sentenced to hang for an act of self-defense. It's actually a really interesting story as each few days something new unfolds. I hope that there is a good outcome.

Christmas & 6 week mark

Well, James made it through his first Christmas. He was awake most of the time and everyone got a chance to enjoy him. My Mom bought him a Santa outfit for Christmas and we put it on him. He didn't like it as he fussed and cried alot of the time he was wearing it.

James has also reached his 6 week mark. At this time he shared his first smile and laugh with his father. Immediately after that he stared at himself in the mirror for 1 hour. It was such a sweet moment. James is also sleeping 4-5 hours through the night straight now and going longer between feeds. This is making night time a little easier as we can get some rest.
I am doing better for the most part. My overwhelming moments seem to last hours instead of a day or so.

Enjoy some of the pics below:
